Empties and End of Spending Ban!

So i'm not going into much detail over my makeup spending ban I pretty much said everything in my half way post, over all it was a success I went the full 30 days without purchasing a single makeup item! and now post ban I find myself really questioning whether I really want a product or not. However during the ban there were a few items I was lusting over and of course I wasted no time in purchasing those items and the feeling of having them in my possession after lusting over them was magnificent so I will post a haul later on.

And now onto my empties. I find it interesting that people have monthly empties there's just no way that I would go through products that fast, I've had these current empties since whenever my last one was which I wanna say was at least 2 months ago. So they are mostly beauty related and some empty candles!

Again I won't go into detail over each item however I have already purchased most of the items, i'm really starting to discover products that I'm really happy with so there isn't to much of things that were bought to try out.
                                                             Here's all my empties.

These two candles are from Glade they are those cool candles that change colours one of them is a vanilla scent the other was caramel they smelt divine and were pretty to i'll be repurchasing these in the future.

This is my favourite moisturiser that was in my 2012 favourites, I love it mostly for the smell, I have already repurchased.

Australis Colour Correcter in Green this little bad boy got a work out whilst I was on my ban. I do want to try other colour correcters.

                                                     BYS black liquid eyeliner.

                                                       Mode black liquid eyeliner.
Will be buying new liquid eyeliners in different brands

                                        Models Prefer Matifying face Primer.

                                                   Ulta3 nail colour Accupolco Bliss.

Lee Stafford ' Treatment for hair that never grows past a certain length'

My Key to a good nights sleep!

Ok so this isn't beauty related well maybe... we all need our beauty sleep and for me as of late it's been getting progressively  harder to head on over to the land of zzz's. If you follow me on twitter you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Most of the time it seems to be that I have just too much on my mind to relax not to mention that I don't have a set time were I go to bed. But even after implementing a bed time and trying to relax before I slept, it didn't seem to help at all I even tried yoga positions to help your body relax for bed. So I though of relaxation candles, aromatherapy. Now I haven't tried anything like this before but I was getting desperate and sick of feeling like a zombie so of I went to head on over to Dusk.

They had this little selection of aromatherapy candles to choose from and in the end I was tossing up between the Relaxation candle and the Calming candle. To be honest I usually go for the sweet scented candles and both of these to me in my opinion smelt like hand soap however I settled on the Relaxation candle. It's the mini candle that claims to burn up to 30 hours! RRP $14.

So this candle has got ylang yalang in it which is commonly used to relax the mind, and to sharpen the senses, it apparently will send the most reluctant sleeper off to the land off nod.

This picture was taken after first use, as you can see I didn't burn much of it maybe perhaps 30 minutes and that was enough time for me to dose off.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about this candle, for me it truly is a miracle worker nothing has ever worked better for me then this candle! Despite my original thoughts of the smell once it is burnt it smells beautiful. Like I mentioned before you don't have to burn alot to get you feeling drowsy. And I have to mention the quality of sleep, I feel so refreshed once I've woken up since using this candle I can't remember the last time I had such a good sleep. I highly highly recommend this candle to anyone who has trouble sleeping or if you need help relaxing and unwinding. I'm definetly going to repurchase this and also try the other candles in the aromatherapy line. Does this sound like something you would be willing to try out?

Neutral eye with yellow highlight!

So I saw this picture that Chloe Morello posted of this neutral eye look with a yellow highlight. Now I've never thought of doing a colored highlight let alone yellow but for those who know me yellow is my FAVORITE colour and I just had to give it ago. And would you believe I not only had yellow eyeshaddow but its my only pigment that I got for a high school dance concert, it probably is the oldest makeup item I own!

Heres the picture.

And heres me re-creation!

It's a little hard the see the shaddow on my lid because of my hooded eyes however the products I used for this look are : - Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden

                     - Urban Decay Naked Palette 2  the colours used are tease all over the lid. Suspect in the    middle of my lid and Blackout on the outer corner of my eye and also in the crease.

                    - Mac Fluidline Blacktrack.

                    - Yellow Pigment  Pizzaz by Shaydz

I paired it with a bright red lippie. This one is the Kate Moss lipstick by Rimmel (favourite lipsticks) in the shade 22

What do you guys think? will you be giving this look ago?

Half way through spending ban.

So as you guys know I'm on a 30 day makeup spending ban so that's NO NEW makeup for the next month! I went into this feeling pretty confident that I could last the month without purchasing any makeup and  I'm happy to say that I haven't purchased any makeup!... so far. That's not to say I haven't been tempted. I think the 40% off sale at priceline which I'm sure everyone made a special trip to priceline for was a day or two after I started my ban so you can imagine I was like noooooo! you fool but the sensible side in me was like think of the makeup you didn't buy and the money you didn't waste on products you didn't need. And to be honest I really only purchase something if I've seen reviews or heard good things about, so I haven't actually been lusting over anything, there really wasn't anything that I wanted to buy. Although I was a tad envious reading over everyone's purchases.

If you can remember there were a couple of things I wanted to accomplish with this ban and they were 1. to not so easily justify a spend. 2. Replenish my bank account. 3. Only purchase products when I really want/need them. So I have actually been putting more money away into my savings so that gets a big tick. Not purchasing products has really made me question whether I really want a product and I think i'll be taking this attitude with me once the ban is over, it will certainly stop a few unneeded purchases and thus leads to me not so easily justifying a spend. It's also encouraged me to use all of the products I own, some that I hadn't used before and some I didn't really know how to use and in turn I have finished a few products! So that's been really good.

Since most of my money hasn't been going on makeup its been going towards things that I really need like clothes, firstly I clean my clothes out on a regular basis like say at the end of every month. I see no point in hoarding them if I don't wear them and if my Mum or sister don't want them then its off to a thrift shop they go! So by the end of the month I'm rotating the same few items together and then i'll wail ' I NEED NEW CLOTHES!' but I always put it of as 1. I can't find what I'm looking for 2. I can't be bothered to go in the change room and try clothes on or 3. I get excited try something on only to realise I look terrible in it :( And that's the thing with makeup it isn't discriminative of size or shape one size fits all no fat days which is probably why I'm like stuff it ill go buy some makeup! But in saying that I have bought clothes which really is something I need.

So so far so good! It is actually a little over half way I've got 11 days left and today a priceline voucher came in the mail! I certainly won't go out like a crazy woman and buy makeup the day the ban ends but I will become more cautious.

Nail of the day

Yes, yes, yes I know I've done it again! I haven't posted in awhile but that only means that I have new posts up and ready to go! woohooo! So I recently purchased some nail dotting tools and have been fiddling around with them I'm sticking to the basics for now, but I've done the simple strawberry. I thought it was cute and I'd share it with you. I'm also going to share some inspiration photos of designs I'd like to try.

Got any cute designs for me to try?
