Rave Review: Michael Mercier Detangling Brush

So I've gone a bit cray over the past few days I like to think that now I have my licence and car yep thats right you herd me a car! I am at the shops more than I usually am so I'm buying more :/ anyway I made two purchases one at priceline and the other at mac! If you can also remember a couple posts back I made an online order at benefit and I received that one last Wednesday so I will do a post on what I got!

So I'm always on the hunt for new mascara and recently I subscribed to CarliBell55 on youtube and one of her favourite mascaras is the loreal telescopic mascara, her lashes look gorgeous so I went out and purchased one for myself but the other purchase I made at priceline was the Michael Mercier Detangler Brush. I've seen a few reviews on these mostly positive so I had my $15 priceline voucher in hand and paid $5 for the brush. ( RRP $19.99)

There are 3 different types of brushes that are colour co-ordinated, theres the pink brush for fine hair, Green brush for normal hair and the Blue brush for thick hair which is the one that I purchased.  This brush differs from others as the 428 bristles are all geometrically placed at different levels which easily disperse the pressure when brushing your hair. Which makes a more enjoyable brushing experience.

I can confidently say I have been through my fair share of brushes, having thick wavy PNG hair means that tangles and knots are an everyday occurence.  Most brushes either snap of in my hair and yes that's as painful as it sounds or the bristles slowly wear off. This brush makes brushing my hair a breeze even the toughest of tangles haven't
been nearly as painful as they use to be. Brushing my hair has become a breeze! I was concerned as it was made out of plastic and I at the best of times can have butter fingers but this sturdy little thing hasn't even cracked. Another pro is that it is light weight and a little bigger then the size of my hand which makes traveling with it easy, If you also use it in the shower or wet it, it dries quickly and due to the shorter bristles you can easily remove hair without it being tangled around the bristles. I love this brush and would highly recommend it to those on a hunt for a new one.

I'd also like to mention due to this whole GFC debacle you can now follow this blog through BLOGLOVIN just click on the pretty face to the right of this post.

So back to business, I have been eyeing of the Nyx jumbo eye pencils and was debating whether to buy them from ebay or cherry culture but decided to go with the latter. I purchased 7 jumbo eye pencils, long black eyeliner and a free lipbalm! Woohoo

If you have them what shades do you have, what's your favourite? and if not would you consider purchasing these?

Allergies

Allergies are no joke and in most cases are quite litteraly LIFE or DEATH. Nut allergies are the most common and severe food allergies and affects 1 percent of the worlds population, there are about 7 Billion people on the earth 1% of that is 67,959,719 people in the world that suffer with this allergy. And fortunetly for a few as little as 10% of those people will grow out of it.One thing that has becoming more of a habit for me is reading the labeling on everything simply because that's where i'll find it, if there's an allergen in the product then that is usually the only place that its stated. Today I received my HERFASHIONBOX (leave me a comment if you'd like to see a review) and was excited by a soap product that was in the box, I took it out held it and smelled it, read the ingredients on the box and immediately threw it away!

Now days nuts are added to most beauty products such as moisturisers, facial washes, soaps and even wax! I understand that it is the responsibility of a person to always read the labeling but allergens should always be in bold so that they can easily be identified. On this particular packaging there wasn't even a separate section that listed possible allergens, it wasn't even in bold to highlight it making it easily missed! What i'm trying to say here is that you can never be to careful when it comes to allergies. Luckily for me nothing happened but usually touching the allergen or even smelling it is enough to set of a reaction. I either get swollen and itchy eyes and lips with a slight tingling in my throat OR I could go straight into ANAPHYLACTIC SHOCK which is absolutely no joke. For those of you who don't know what that is its basically a severe allergic reaction that results in a sharp drop in blood pressure and breathing difficulties due to that fact that your throat litteraly closes up! Please share this with people with allergies of all types not just nuts as you can see its far more serious than it seems. I would hate to see someone have a reaction simply because it wasn't stated clearly on the label or they didn't take the time to read it.

2.  Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?

Not regularly enough, tommorow never comes ;)

3.  How long will you last with chipped nail polish?

don't get to wear nail polish as much as I would like to, working in hospitality means no polish, so whenever I wear it, it usually comes straight off :(

4.  How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty or nail polish product even if you need it?  (ie. purchasing a new topcoat or foundation etc....)

Not to long not if its something that I need, if its something I have a different version  of  then ill try and wait till I finish that of as well.

5.  What is your worst beauty habit?

I have to agree with Jac on this one shaving/ waxing my legs I too opt for jeans or a long skirt!

6.  Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?

Sorting out my cupboards, my room is always the last room in the house to be cleaned!

7.  When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready until the last minute or not?

No I like to have to have plenty of time, so I like to plan ahead, just in case I change my mind im not rushing around at the last minute!

8.  Can you commit to spending bans?

I've never tried one but I'd like to think that I could..... although I know I probably can't ahah

9.  How organised is your makeup and nail polish collection?

Fairly organised but i have just purchased an acrylic makeup storage unit from themakeupboxshop.com!

10.  What is the longest amount of time you have gone without writing a blog post?

2 weeks I think I always feel bad if i feel I haven't made a post in a while.

Empties

This is my first empties post, I found it really strange holding onto finished product containers and even harder to finish them. I get distracted in between or ill buy another one before i'm finished so it was a bit of a mission to actually finish products but I've got there with a few of them and here they are!

Not alot here but gotta start somewhere right?

Spa Facial Wipes -  Facial Cleansing wipes with extracts of Cucumber, there's 25 wipes in a pack it clames to cleanse, tone and moisturise. Its suitable for all skin types and is dermatologically tested and is paraben and alcohol free. I didn't mind these to start with however after using a few of these I really couldn't stand the smell. I'm all for trying new things and finding the perfect face wipes for me but these aren't it and I won't be repurchasing.

Deep Cleansing Facial Wipes, I feel the same way about these wipes as I do the others, not for me I won't be repurchasing.

Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing facial wipes. I received these from priceline after making an online purchase which I thought was pretty cool. Its a sample and contains 7 wipes, I have two sample packets and am really enjoying using them. They work much better for me in comparison to the spa wipes and I would definetly consider buying the full product.

Also by the brand Simple kind to skin hydrating light moisturiser. it claims to be a 12 hour moisturiser however I felt after a few hours I needed to apply more. It is however Dermatalogically  tested and approved and free from alcohol, perfume and colour. It is exactly as it claims a light moisturiser, I will try a different brand of face moisturiser but I would go back to this one.

GKMBJ lactic Hydrating Shampoo and fortifying honey Cream, I received these in my lusthaveit box, I won't be purchasing the full size product I didn't see any difference in my hair.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Highlighter and Concealer, I enjoyed using both the highlighter and concealer however for the sake of finding the perfect one I will try others but would consider coming back to this one.

Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Mascara, I really like this mascara but there are other ones I want to try but I will definetly repurchase this in the future.

Maxfactor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper, I really liked the wand on this mascara it separated my lashes and helped to apply the product evenly however I would consider other mascaras before repurchasing.

Norsca 24hr Clear Anti- White Marking Deodorant, I really liked this deodorant, did exactly as it claimed and I have already repurchased!

Well those are my empties I certainly couldn't do monthly empties I don't know how people go through product so fast! Since I started blogging i'm all about trying new things and that's what ill be doing with most of the products that I have which is why I won't be repurchasing most items but i'm always open to new ones so if you have any products you would recommend leave me a comment below and ill test them out!

Update!

I know I've been a little slack on posting but I've had a few other things going on that have been demanding attention and with those things finally out of the way I will try and get back into the swing of things. So first up I know im a little late, but here in Queensland in order to progress from your learner licence to your provisional 1 licence you first need to complete 100 hours of driving including 90 hours of day driving and 10 hours of night driving which only took me 3 years to complete! Then you need to pass the Practical road driving test which sets you back a cool $200 pass or fail, so I went for my test and failed due to nerves and my second test was in the pouring rain ( I've never driven in heavy rain before ) but praise the lord I passed! which for me means I can now drive unsupervised! And I'm now in the exciting and stressful process of finding a car!

Beauty I decided to cancel my Bellabox subscription, while I love the idea of these beauty boxes I continue to be underwhelmed by Bellabox and being subscribed also to lusthaveit I decided to stick with the later. I also signed up to the Her Fashion Box which will hopefully be a great box and if I like it I will stick with just the one box.
I usually post the contents of each months box but I decided to give it a miss for this month but I will say that I received the sample of the John Freida Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner WHAT?! I have dark brown / black hair which is yet another product I cant use not the mention the special product from the lusthaveit box which was the Summer Tanner, first of all I am naturally tan and wouldn't use tanner but I am allergic to nuts and unfortunetly the tanner has walnut oil in it so I can't even swatch it without having a reaction.

Recent Purchases
I've made a few purchases retail and online which is always exciting. As Summer is officially over were now into autumn and I must say I love the cooler months. And the heeled booty is definetly going to be big in fashion so I jumped in on this and bought a pair at Rubi Shoes which where $39.95

I am in love with Kate Moss lipsticks by Rimmel. I saw this one in the shops which is a matte plum lipstick which is gorgeous and it comes in a red tube as opposed to the usual black tube. Usually they cost $11.95 however this one was $12.95

And finally my online purchases, I am trying to cut down on my makeup spending so I am limiting myself to one high end makeup purchase a month, usually there is a minimum spend for free shipping which is anywhere between $120-$150 which i'm fine with spending. This months high end purchase is Benefit. I was introduced to this brand buy Lusthaveit when they had the travel size of They're Real mascara which has become my favourite so I made a purchase from there and also made a purchase from Cherry Culture and bought 7 Nyx jumbo eye pencils. I'm so excited I cannot wait untill they arive! and not to worry i'll make a post when they come.

So hopfully now things will start to settle down I can get back into a rythm and will get to regularly posting.
